HEALTH SUPPORT Sample Clauses
The HEALTH SUPPORT clause outlines the obligations and provisions related to supporting the health and well-being of individuals covered by the agreement. This may include providing access to medical services, mental health resources, or wellness programs, and could specify the types of support available, eligibility criteria, and procedures for accessing these benefits. Its core practical function is to ensure that parties receive necessary health-related assistance, thereby promoting well-being and addressing potential health issues that could impact performance or participation.
HEALTH SUPPORT. The following to be effective September 1, 2003:
HEALTH SUPPORT. 2.6.1 The Provider will ensure early identification and appropriate action in the event of the Young Person’s ill-health and support the young person to take treatment prescribed by the appropriate health professional liaising always with the Purchaser.
2.6.2 Young People, according to their level of understanding, must be consulted and their consent sought for medical examination and treatment.
2.6.3 The Provider shall keep a record of the Young person’s health, treatment, medication and development.
2.6.4 Where feasible, the young person shall continue to be registered with their existing GP. Where this is not possible, they shall be permanently registered with a local GP of their choice.
2.6.5 The Provider shall endeavour to ensure that Young person’s receive six-monthly dental check-ups and any associated treatment required. Records of these should be maintained.
2.6.6 The Provider shall endeavour to ensure that Young person’s receive annual optical check-ups and any associated treatment required. Records of these should be maintained.
2.6.7 Staff must discourage the young person from engaging in substance abuse, smoking and drinking and ensure they have access to information about personal relationships and sexual health commensurate with their level of understanding.
2.6.8 The Provider must implement a policy in respect of smoking and the consumption of alcohol.
2.6.9 The Provider must make available health information covering issues such as smoking, sexual behaviour, birth control, alcohol, substance abuse, sexually transmitted diseases, HIV/AIDS and hygiene.
2.6.10 The Provider must make available information about the threat and/or the dangers of sexual exploitation.
HEALTH SUPPORT. 9.1. There is continued commitment to further developments to the health support offer for people accessing ABEN accommodation. GMCA and GM Health and Social Care Partnership commission a range of support services designed to improve access, however the responsibility for supporting people to improve their physical and mental health lies with localities and their providers.
9.2. Clinical Commissioning Group and Public Health team should be able to demonstrate how people accessing ABEN are supported to address their health needs, recognising co-morbidity and challenges to accessing mainstream services. I.e. Inclusion Health standards.
9.3. Individuals accommodated in ABEN should have access to appropriate health and support servces to ensure their wider needs are met. This should be arranged locally, engaging with local providers and commissioners to ensure alignment and support to ABEN. At a minimum this must include; • Health Assessment to inform a support plan • Access to General Practice and links made with nearby surgeries • Coordinating access to mental health support and assessment pathway e.g. RSI funded Dual Diagnosis support to staff and clients • Drug and alcohol services providing support, including harm reduction interventions, with regular in-reach encouraged
9.4. This baseline will be supplemented by interventions that can be delivered at a pan-GM level such as provision of screening and immunisations (Hepititis C, influenza) and other public health inteventions such as smoking cessation.
HEALTH SUPPORT. A member will not be required to provide any medical/physical assistance to pupils except in the instance of medical emergencies. A member may provide such assistance as is necessary for the safety and well being of the pupil.
