Behavior Management Policies Step #1: Three strikes with the cabin counselor – minor consequences Any minor inappropriate behavior is first dealt with at the cabin level. Under normal conditions a cabin counselor will correct a camper three times before taking the camper to the next level of discipline. Step #2: Visit to the supervisor – more consequences The next step involves the camper being removed from the cabin group and taken to a supervisor. The supervisor will listen to the camper and offer a route to restoration. Under normal circumstances, such a route will include an apology and an appropriate consequence. Step #3: Phone call to parent/guardian – more consequences If the first two attempts to xxxxxx appropriate behavior are ineffective - we will call the parent /guardian. It is the responsibility of the parent / guardian to be available (or have someone empowered to act on your behalf) at all times while your child is at camp. We must be able to contact someone at all times! Step #4: If nothing has worked thus far, the child must be picked up from camp (NOTE: Xxxxxxxx will not be responsible for the supervision of a camper after they have chosen by their behavior to withdraw from the program.) The camper’s parent / guardian must arrange transportation from Wildwood Ranch immediately. If a camper consistently displays this inappropriate behavior, they will no longer be able to participate in camp. Further- more, the supervisors at Wildwood Ranch reserve the right to discontinue any child from the program if their behavior is detrimental to the growth and development of other campers.
