Common use of Grievance Initiation Clause in Contracts

Grievance Initiation. Only permanent non-probationary employees may grieve (appeal) disciplinary suspensions or disciplinary discharges. Only the UNION shall have the right on behalf of a disciplined or discharged employee to appeal a disciplinary or discharge action, and it must initiate this grievance at Step 2 of the grievance procedure.
