Common use of Governmental Authority Clause in Contracts

Governmental Authority. “Governmental Authority” means any federal, state, municipal, foreign or other government, governmental department, commission, board, bureau, agency or instrumentality, or any private or public court or tribunal.

The term “Governmental Authority” means any duly constituted body politic, whether elected, appointed or otherwise generally acknowledged as the legitimate sovereign government of the applicable jurisdiction, including but not limited to international, national, federal, state, municipalregional, foreign or other local and municipal branches of government, governmental department, commission, board, bureau, agency or instrumentality, or any private or public court or tribunal.

Governmental Authority. “Governmental Authority” Authority means any nation or government, any federal, state, municipalcity, foreign town, municipality, county, local or other government, governmental political subdivision thereof or thereto and any department, commission, board, bureau, instrumentality, agency or instrumentalityother entity exercising executive, legislative, judicial, regulatory or any private administrative functions of or public court or tribunalpertaining to government.

Governmental Authority. “Governmental Authority” means any: (a) nation, state, commonwealth, province, territory, county, municipality, district or other jurisdiction of any nature; (b) federal, state, local, municipal, foreign or other government; or (c) governmental or quasi-governmental authority of any nature (including any governmental division, governmental department, agency, commission, board, bureau, agency or instrumentality, official, organization, unit, body or Entity and any private or public court or other tribunal).
