Geotechnical Services. When the services of geotechnical engineers are reasonably required for the Project, HISD may elect to have the A/E obtain these services as an Additional Service as provided for in Article 3. Otherwise, HISD shall furnish the services of geotechnical engineers. HISD’s written approval is necessary before the services of geotechnical engineers can be enlisted. Such services may include, but are not limited to, test borings, test pits, determinations of soil bearing values, percolation tests, evaluations of hazardous materials, ground corrosion and resistivity tests, including necessary operations for anticipating subsoil conditions, with reports and appropriate professional recommendations. The A/E shall review the completeness and confirm in writing to HISD the sufficiency of the type of tests and information, whether furnished through the A/E or furnished by HISD.

Geotechnical Services. The CONSULTANT shall perform Geotechnical Services as defined in the scope of work and any addenda to that report when directed. The work shall be performed in accordance with the requirements set out in the most current Geotechnical Design Manual. After the assignment of the project, the CONSULTANT shall submit the scope of the geotechnical investigations to the Office of Geotechnical Services for their review and approval. No work shall proceed before obtaining the approval. Prior to entering upon private property for performing the work, the CONSULTANT shall follow the “Instruction for Entering upon Private Property” as established by Legislative Acts of 1963. A copy of these instructions is on file with INDOT and is incorporated by reference. The CONSULTANT shall obtain a permit from the INDOT District for maintenance of traffic before drilling operations can proceed. The CONSULTANT may be required to do all work per project or only a portion thereof, as determined by the INDOT Office of Geotechnical Services. All proposed services may not be required. The CONSULTANT shall obtain and preserve samples of the subsoil as required, perform the necessary laboratory tests, perform the required geotechnical engineering analyses and prepare and furnish the necessary reports covering the information obtained. If the CONSULTANT is requested to perform the laboratory test on the soil samples and rock cores, these samples shall be delivered to its laboratory no later than the end of each workweek. If the samples are to be tested by INDOT they shall be delivered to: Indiana Department of Transportation Office of Geotechnical Services 000 X. Xxxxxxxxxx Road Indianapolis, Indiana 46219 no later than the following Monday of each workweek. Each soil sample and rock core shall be clearly marked as to project number, contract number, structure number, road number, station, offset, boring number, sample number, core number, blow count depth, etc. INDOT shall determine who will do the laboratory testing and engineering during the drilling operations. Upon completion of the laboratory testing all soil samples and rock cores shall become t he property of INDOT and shall be disposed of as directed by INDOT.
Geotechnical Services. Access and Protection of Property. The Architect/Engineer shall contact the Agency for information regarding access to the site and shall take all reasonable precautions to prevent damage to property, visible and concealed, and shall reasonably restore the site to the condition existing prior to the Architect/Engineer's entry, including, but not limited to, repair of curbs, sidewalks, lawns and plantings unless otherwise agreed to with the Owner.
Geotechnical Services. The requested services consist, in general, of preparation of Geotechnical Reports to address issues relative to construction of new or rehabilitation of existing roadways, flood control channels, or parks projects. Certain related support services as described herein may also be requested. This General Scope of Work exemplifies the types of work that may be required including, but are not limited to, the following: • Life cycle costs and rehabilitation/reconstruction methods for pavements • Geotechnical design of various foundations and/or retaining structures • Embankment restoration and construction considerations • Settlement analysis and mitigation • Liquefaction evaluation and mitigation • In-situ ground improvements and monitoring • Dewatering and settlement monitoring • Slope stabilization and landslide mapping • Grading observation and related testing • Soil erosion and sedimentation control and infiltration testing • Other design criteria as deemed necessary
Geotechnical Services. OFPC will furnish the services of geotechnical consultants when OFPC agrees that such services are necessary. In order to assist OFPC in providing the most constructive information from the geotechnical consultant, the Project Manager will request the Project Architect/Engineer to recommend the scope of work for the geotechnical services by separate correspondence. Geotechnical Services. For projects requiring geotechnical services, the Professional shall be responsible for hiring a geotechnical engineer involved to perform an investigation of the site subsurface conditions and prepare a report. The geotechnical engineer will be responsible for determining the scope of the required investigation, which will also be subject to review by the Owner. At a minimum, the geotechnical investigation and report shall meet the requirements outlined in Chapter 18 of the applicable Building Code. See also the Owner’s Design Professional’s Submission Requirements document for information related to the timing and scope of these services. The geotechnical engineer shall be part of the project team and remain involved at various intermediate stages in the process to review the construction documents, interact with the structural engineer and architect, and confirm that their recommendations are being interpreted as intended. Geotechnical Services. The Consultant shall be responsible for a complete geotechnical investigation. All work performed by the Consultant shall be in general accordance with the Florida Department of Transportation Soils and Foundation Handbook and other applicable standards, or as otherwise described in this scope of services. Any changes regarding geotechnical standards, policies and procedures shall be discussed on a project-by-project basis. The Consultant shall be responsible for obtaining any permits needed to perform the work. The County will assist in obtaining property owner permission to perform the necessary geotechnical fieldwork.
