FLACSO’s General Secretary is elected for two years by the General Assembly by the professors of social sciences of Chilean universities FLACSO’s General Secretary is charged with executing the resolutions of the General Assembly and the Board of Directors and is the Institution’s administrative director, the Head of its Secretariat, appoints all of the Secretariat’s administrative personnel, exercises the functions of President of the Board of Directors in his/her absence, and is FLACSO’s legal representative. He/she also signs, together with the Director of the respective School or Institute, diplomas based on the decisions of the Schools’ Academic Councils.
