Common use of General Rules of Construction Clause in Contracts

General Rules of Construction. (a) This Lease may be executed in several counterparts and the counterparts shall constitute one and the same instrument. (b) Landlord may act under this Lease by its attorney or agent. (c) Wherever a requirement is imposed on Tenant hereunder, Tenant shall be required to perform such requirement at is sole cost and expense unless it is specifically otherwise provided herein. (d)(i) Wherever appropriate herein, the singular includes the plural and the plural includes the singular; (ii) whenever the word "including" is used herein, it shall be deemed to mean "including, but not limited to"; (iii) the words "re-enter" and "re-entry" as used herein shall not be restricted to their technical legal meaning. (e) Anything in this Lease to the contrary notwithstanding: (i) any provision hereof which permits or requires a party to take any particular action shall be deemed to permit or require, as the case may be, such party to cause such action to be taken; and (ii) any provision hereof which requires any party not to take any particular action shall be deemed to require such party to prevent such action to be taken by any person or by operation of law.
