Common use of General Eligibility Clause in Contracts

General Eligibility. a. Employees in Unit B will be eligible for a salary increase if (i) he or she is employed in a Unit B position as of the date of the ratification of this Agreement by the Board and the Union or July 1 of the fiscal year (for academic support professionals) or September 1 of the academic year (for annually contracted faculty) in which the salary increase is granted, whichever is later, and either (ii-a) he or she is an academic support professional who was employed prior to March 1 of the previous fiscal year in either a position described in Appendix A or in a position which has been newly classified as a bargaining unit position effective with the current fiscal year, or (ii-b) he or she is an annually contracted faculty member employed in a position described in Appendix A AND was employed by the University as an annually contracted faculty member at least 50% during the immediately preceding academic year, or (ii-c) he or she is returning to a previously held Unit B position following employment in a permanent full-time position at the University for at least one academic term during the previous academic year.
