General Description of the Project. The New Ukiah Courthouse shall be delivered using the Judicial Council’s design build delivery method. The Project will entail construction of a new seven-courtroom courthouse of approximately 82,000 square feet in the city of Ukiah. The Project includes secured parking for judicial officers and will provide approximately 160 parking spaces with solar power generation capability. The Project will be located on a Judicial Council-owned site located in the city of Ukiah. The facility is anticipated to be three to four floors. The Project includes seven (7) judge’s xxxxxxxx, jury deliberation rooms, administrative and clerical areas, IT staff spaces, public spaces, building support space, secure in-custody Xxxxx Port, and secure in-custody holding areas at courtrooms and central holding. The Project was put on-hold in 2016, due to insufficient resources in the Immediate and Critical Needs Account. Proper funding has been restored, and this project has been approved to move forward with the Performance Criteria phase. A Draft of the Projected Staff and Space Requirements Summary has been completed by the Judicial Council Sr. Facilities Analyst and confirmed by the Court. The anticipated Direct Cost of Work for the proposed Project is $109,469,000.00 (CCCI 6958, 5/2020). The Project will be designed to be certified “Silver” by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), who oversees in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Program.

General Description of the Project. The proposed Planning Study will analyze and develop a plan for improving, modernizing, or replacing the Nevada City Courthouse. The Planning Study will compare the merits and disadvantages of options for the Nevada City Courthouse in Nevada City. At a minimum three options will be studied. One option will analyze the feasibility of renovating the historic Nevada City Courthouse; a second option will analyze replacing all or part of the courthouse on the existing site; and third option will analyze building a new courthouse. The Planning Study will define the scope, budget, and timeline for each option as well as provide an analysis of impacts on the court and community. The anticipated Direct Cost of Work for the proposed Project is not yet determined.

The Project includes secured parking for judicial officers and sustainability measures to achieve at a minimum LEED silver certification and CalGreen. The Project will require acquisition of a site of approximately 2.5 acres. The facility is anticipated to be five floors plus a basement. The Project includes 12-courtrooms, xxxxxxxx, and administrative support area. Major functional components include central holding, jury assembly, alternative dispute resolution, family law, and self help. The project will replace the County-owned Courthouse Annex and the Judicial Council-owned 0000 Xxxx Xxxxxx facility. The project is currently authorized for the Site Acquisition Phase. The anticipated Direct Cost of Work for the proposed Project is $215,755,400.00 (CCCI 7892, July 2021).
