Common use of Funeral Clause in Contracts

Funeral. With the approval of the appropriate ▇▇▇▇ or Director, funeral leave of ½ day will be granted, with pay, but not in addition to bereavement leave. 8.8 Bereavement 8.8.1 In the case of death in the immediate family, bereavement leave shall be granted with pay for a period not to exceed 5 working days, provided the bereaved employee has notified the immediate supervisor. For the purposes of this Article, “immediate family” shall be defined as per Article 7.1 in the Common Agreement. 8.8.2 The appropriate Vice President may grant bereavement leave in the case of death of any other person.
