Part 4 – Support Services Support Services means the support provided to Members by Ordnance Survey under this Part 4. For all Members (Tier 1 and Tier 2), the access to this support will be primarily through the Ordnance Survey website and the helpdesk. In addition to the Website and Helpdesk Support, Ordnance Survey will provide Additional Support Services. Tier 1 Members will also have access to Relationship Management Support and Technical Support Services. To be clear, Tier 2 Members will not have access to such services. In respect of these Support Services, where it is found that an issue is the direct result of the in-house development and use of Ordnance Survey data by a Member, Ordnance Survey will endeavour to support the Member in the resolution of that issue through the Technical Support Services. However, Ordnance Survey will not provide Support Services in relation to issues that are clearly identified as related to third party applications and soft/hardware issues (although Ordnance Survey will, where reasonable to do so, facilitate contact between the Member and the third party). The support available to Members through each of these Services is outlined below. 1 Website Support The Website Support will comprise: • The Ordnance Survey corporate website, which will include Product and other corporate information; • A dedicated public sector area, which will facilitate Members’ ability to “self-help” themselves; • Access to a dedicated secure Members’ area. This will include, for example, on-line ordering and fulfilment environments and other community information. The above resources will, between them, include information on the Datasets available and their usage, licensing guidance, basic technical support and community information (including, for example, membership applications, news bulletins, forums, case studies, reports and contact information for other Members (subject to the consent of the relevant other Members)).

FTP. Web servers that also run an FTP server shall not map FTP directories to directories accessible via a web browser.
FTP. The File Transfer Protocol (FTP)11 allows the interactive transfer of files of arbitrary type. The naming of files and directories, the type and content of the files are subject to a convention between the client and server. Then a scenario for the collection of publications is described: • The XXXX application provides a FTP server. • On a regular basis (e.g. a weekly interval) it creates a DIDL document. • It queries the local database for research information and encodes the results in the XX-XXXX-OAR format. For every publication metadata it creates a kecrisoar: publication item in the DIDL container. For each such item the relative project, organization, person and event entities are added as sub level items. • The OpenAIRE FTP client then retrieves a single DIDL document structured by all publication entities with their related XXXX-OAR entities.
FTP. The following specifications are recommended when FTP is used between two countries: - Each affected country puts in service an FTP space in which is defined an entry point for the requesting countries (by an account). In that entry point, two subdivisions are made, one for the requests from the other country and one for the replies on those requests by the affected country. - The request folder is writeable (no modify nor delete permission) for the requesting country and readable for the affected country. The reply folder is readable for the requesting country and writeable for the affected country. - The requesting country puts up his requests by using filenames indicating date, time and administration of the request (format F_YYYYMMDD-HHMM-ADM.TXT). For documentation reasons and clarifications, additional Word or PDF documents may be added by using the same filename with different extension. - The requesting country can send corrections to the original file by using the same filename and adding _CORRECTION to the name. - Replies are put up by using filenames consisting of the original filename and adding date, time and administration of the reply in the same way as for the request. As such multiple replies are possible on one complex request. - When the affected country detects errors in the format of the file or has other problems with the files received, the affected country puts up a reply textfile in the reply folder describing the problem and with the filename in the format F_YYYYMMDD-HHMM-ADM_ERROR.TXT) Details of the file structure are given in Appendix 1. The record format is defined in Appendix 3.
