Common use of Franchise Grant Clause in Contracts

Franchise Grant. The Franchise Authority hereby grants to the Franchisee under the Code of Virginia and the Cable Act a non-exclusive Franchise authorizing the Franchisee to construct and operate a Cable System in the Public Ways within the Franchise Area, and for that purpose to use, erect, install, construct, repair, alter, add to, inspect, replace, reconstruct, maintain, or retain in any Public Way such poles, wires, cables, conductors, ducts, underground conduits, vaults, manholes, pedestals, amplifiers, appliances, attachments, and, including but not limited to, above ground enclosures, markers, and concrete pads, or other related property, equipment, or fixtures as may be necessary, useful, or appurtenant to the Cable System, and to provide such services over the Cable System as may be lawfully allowed.
