Valves shall be of non-rising spindle type except for the bypass valves. The spindles shall be of such lengths that when the valves are closed the bottom ends of the spindles engage fully in the spindle nuts. The spindle collars of thrust plates shall be concentric and machined, suitable for the specified test pressure.
