Common use of First Meal Period Clause in Contracts

First Meal Period. (excluding ENG camera, Master Control) In the event that an employee has not been provided a meal period within the time limits required in article 19.0 and the employee shall be given in addition to their regular hourly rate, a meal displacement penalty equal to one-half their basic hourly rate commencing after five and one half hours on shift and ending the earlier of the time at which they are given a meal period or the time they are released. The meal displacement penalty shall also apply from the end of the meal period given and extend to the end of the first half hour in which the meal period should have been assigned. A meal period shall not be assigned within the first hour of the scheduled shift.
