Common use of Fires Clause in Contracts

Fires. No open fires whatsoever will be allowed. All necessary precautions must be taken to prevent veld or other unauthorized fires. In the case of fire, including veld fires, the Contractor must instruct his employees to assist the airport management in extinguishing the fire if requested to do so. The Contractor shall indemnify the Employer against claims that may arise from fires due to negligence by the Contractor or his operations. If it is required by the Employer to extinguish any fires caused by the Contractor, the cost thereof will be for the Contractor. In case of a fire caused by air traffic activities, the area involved shall immediately be evacuated by the Contractor to an area beyond a radius of 300 m from the fire.
