FIRE DUTIES. The Employer may allocate employees to assist the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) in fire management and control duties including training. Any instructions provided to employees by DEC regarding the carrying out of such fire duties whilst allocated to DEC are to be taken by affected employees as being given to employees by the Employer. Any employee allocated to assist DEC in fire management and control duties will be subject to the conditions of employment as contained in the CALM Common Fire Service Provisions Agreement 2003 PSA AG 9 of 2004 or its replacements.
FIRE DUTIES. 4.15.10.1. A Ranger may be required to participate in the Fire Duty Roster, involving Standby, On-Call and Fire Protection duties. Only a Ranger that has completed the Fire Fighting Fitness test and has undergone Fire Fighting training is eligible to participate in Fire Protection duties. 4.15.10.2. A Ranger who is rostered for normal duties will be involved in patrols to ensure signage is in place, gates (where provided) are locked and controlling and protecting the public, this is regarded as normal duties and not deemed to be Fire Protection duties.
