In order to satisfy the fair processing obligations of the first DPP, GP Practices must take reasonable steps to ensure that all patients in their Practice have access to information about the sharing of information from their GP record with other healthcare providers via the MIG. GP Practices have a legal responsibility to ensure that patients are made aware that they can opt-out and how they can do this.
