Extension of Sick Leave. Unless an employee otherwise requests in writing, an employee who has used up her sick leave credits shall be granted advanced sick leave with pay for a period up to fifteen (15) days subject to the deduction of such advanced leave from any sick leave credits subsequently earned.
Extension of Sick Leave. (a) An employee who has exhausted their sick leave credits or does not qualify for sick leave with pay shall be allowed up to one (1) year's leave of absence without pay. At the end of one (1) year, an extension may be granted by the Board.
Extension of Sick Leave. (a) An employee with more than five (5) years of service who has exhausted sick leave credits may be allowed in the event of illness, in excess of fifteen (15) days, an extension of sick leave to a maximum of fifteen (15) working days. This sick leave extension shall be repaid by the employee upon return to duty from the normal monthly accumulation.
Extension of Sick Leave. Sick leave may be extended by the Employer after all accumulated sick leave is used when an employee is injured in the line of duty (except when covered by industrial insurance) or contracts a contagious or infectious disease through exposure to such disease in the line of duty.
Extension of Sick Leave. An employee, who has exhausted his sick leave credits and requires an extension of his sick leave without pay, may present an application of extension for sick leave to the Chief Executive Officer. Such leave shall be considered as an unpaid leave of absence, during which time the employee is not entitled to accumulated benefits (Article 21), sick leave credits, paid holidays or annual vacation subject to the same conditions described in Article 3:01, sub-articles a) to h). The employee may opt to pay the full cost of his benefits under Article 21.
Extension of Sick Leave. Upon receipt by the Employer of the medical certificate certifying that the employee is unable to perform the duties and responsibilities of her/his position due to illness, an employee with more than one year service who has exhausted her/his sick leave credits shall be allowed to anticipate extension of her/his sick leave to a maximum of fifteen (15) working days. The sick leave extension shall be repaid by the employee upon her/his return to duty through her/his normal monthly accumulation. The employee shall be held responsible for the fifteen working days extension and, should the full amount not be repaid, the Employer may deduct the amount due from the employee’s salary.
Extension of Sick Leave. 2.8.3 At the expiration of any period of entitlement under these clauses, the Regional Commander shall review each case on its merits and refer the matter to the Chief Executive/National Commander who will consider extending sick leave on pay for a further period. In forwarding individual cases for consideration Regional Commanders are to supply full details of service, and sick leave taken.
Extension of Sick Leave. Section 1. Five (5) working days after an employee has exhausted all of his/her sick leave, vacation leave, and personal leave, he/she shall be eligible for an extension of sick leave; provided that such employee has been employed a minimum of twelve (12) consecutive months prior to the commencement of such extension of sick leave. In anticipation of the exhaustion of all paid leave, an employee shall forward a request to the CEO of the Campus on the form entitled Request for Extension of Sick Leave Form (Appendix B). The Campus CEO shall act upon such request and forward the decision in writing to both the employee and the appropriate union official of the employee’s unit within ten (10) working days of receipt. The approval of such request will be effective at the beginning of the sixth (6th) day of unpaid leave. The granting of an extension of sick leave shall be subject to the sole discretion of the CEO of the Campus. All requests for an extension of such leave shall be given due consideration. Such extensions shall be available only for illness of the employee and not for illness of his/her immediate family. Further, an employee on an industrial accident leave shall not be eligible for an extension of sick leave.

Extension of Sick Leave. An employee with more than two (2) years of service, who has exhausted her sick leave credits, shall apply in writing and be subject to approval by the Employer for an extension of sick leave credits to a maximum of fifteen (15) working days. Such approval shall not be withheld without just cause. Upon returning to work the employee shall repay the extension of sick leave credits in full at a rate of one-half (½) of monthly sick leave accumulation. No employee shall be granted further extension of sick leave credits until his/her fifteen (15) days has been repaid in full. Should the employee resign or be terminated from the position, the value of the non-accrued leave shall be repaid in full from the employee’s final pay cheque. No employee shall have her services terminated by virtue of having exhausted all her sick leave credits.
