Extended Health Care Benefits [2008]. (i) For those Members who retire on or after January 1, 2006 consistent with the terms of OMERS and have completed at least ten (10) years of unbroken service as a Continuing Full-time member with the Halton Regional Police Service will be provided with extended health care benefits in effect on the date of their retirement. The annual deduction of $26.00 shall also be applicable to retired members and shall be deducted from their first claim each year. Benefits for dental, vision and deluxe travel insurance are clarified in Article 14.06 (b) below. This coverage shall commence on the first day of the month following the member’s retirement and shall continue to the end of the month in which the member reaches age 65 or for a period of fifteen (15) years, whichever occurs first. The coverage shall apply to the member, their spouse and dependent children. The full cost of the premiums will be borne by the Board.
