Expression of Interest. 17.20 The College shall invite all Faculty Members with regular status to express interest in the temporary assignment opportunity through an application process. The invitation shall describe the nature of the reassignment opportunity and the qualifications sought in the successful candidate. Selection Criteria
Expression of Interest. (a) For the purposes of this article, an “expression of interest” is a process for filling a vacancy with a qualified employee within the same classification and same department. An expression of interest will identify the duties and the office location of the position(s).
Expression of Interest. 1. An Expression of Interest will be posted in the Public Works Division for a minimum of ten (10) working days for all approved temporary and permanent work assignments. The Expression of Interest shall contain the nature of the work assignment, the number of employees needed, the qualifications, and the closing date for applications. Employees interested in any of these assignments will submit an Expression of Interest Application Form to the Public Works Division Secretary by the closing date and a list will be available to the Union. Late Expressions of Interests will be accepted up to the date of appointments as per Article 11.02 (b). An Expression of Interest for Permanent Work Assignments will be open to permanent Public Works employees.

The request may be for work in another department, division, position band, compensation level, etc. Such requests will be considered by the Employer in determining job assignments and transfers, from the date of the request until the end of the next following fiscal year. It is understood and agreed, however, that no employee shall have a right to such transfer, change in job assignment, or change in work schedule, on the basis of seniority or otherwise; and the College shall continue to have the right and discretion to assign employees within each classification, which shall not be subject to the grievance procedure.

Expression of Interest. Employees expressing an interest in a vacancy will be given consideration for the position, and will be provided an interview if they meet the minimum qualifications listed for the vacant position. The final decision on whether an employee meets minimum qualifications or is appointed to a vacancy is the City Attorney’s and may not be grieved or arbitrated.

This information will be shared with SFI for eligibility checking and to ensure that they are aware of potential budget implications.
