Exchanging Shifts. (a) Subject to the provisions of paragraphs (b) and (c), an employee, having reached agreement with another employee in his own classification, may in writing apply for permission from his supervisor to exchange shifts with that other employee. The Employer reserves the right to approve or disapprove any such application, but providing (1) the application is submitted at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the commencement of the shift which occurs first, (2) each of the said employees possesses the necessary qualifications to perform the other employee's job, as set out in Article 11.01 of this Agreement, and (3) the other employee is the most senior of the employees who is scheduled to work on the day in question and is willing to agree to the exchange, the Employer's approval will not be unreasonably withheld.
Exchanging Shifts. Employees may, by mutual agreement, exchange shifts within a seven day period provided that the employees have the ability to perform the work required and that no overtime or other penalties would be payable by the Employer to the employee(s) if such overtime or penalties would not have occurred in the first instance. Requests to exchange will be approved by the Employer and will not be unreasonably denied. Employees will be required to give 24 hours' notice and work in the same department.
Exchanging Shifts. (i) Employees may switch shifts with other scheduled employees. A “switch” refers to an employee trading shifts with an employee who is already scheduled to work a different shift.
Exchanging Shifts. Overtime will not be payable in the case of Team Members exchanging shifts. Such arrangements require the approval of Iplex however such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld.

Requests to exchange will be approved by the Employer and will not be unreasonably denied. Employees will be required to give 24 hours' notice and work in the same department
Exchanging Shifts. Exchange of shifts or days between two consenting employees working in the same program unit/department may be granted by the Hospital if a "Request Form" stating dates, shifts involved, and signed by both individuals is submitted in advance to their Manager or their designate for approval. It is understood that such exchange does not involve over-time payment as applied elsewhere in this Collective Agreement. In all instances, shift exchanges must be of the same time duration. (i.e. hour for hour).
