Evaluation Development Committee (EDC a. The purpose of the committee will be to regularly review the effectiveness of the policy, for the evaluation of teachers in the District. b. The Committee will be comprised of an equal number of members representing a variety of programs from the Association and the Administration, composed of four (4) members – 2 Administrators picked by the Superintendent, 2 Teachers picked by the Association. 1) The committee shall determine those conditions that would likely have an adverse impact on SGMs (Student Growth Measures), such as a threshold number of authorized teacher absences, the acceptance and mentoring of student teachers, changes in teacher assignments. Implementation of the Common Core State Standards (or PARCC) etc. The committee shall perform this task over the term of this Agreement. c. The EDC will review the evaluation tool for changes that are required by law. 1.) Changes cannot occur until the end of the school year or as mandated by law 2.) All recommended and required changes must be approved by the Board and the Association 3.) Teachers must be informed of all approved changes at the first teachers meeting after the changes are approved. d. The Association committee members will be compensated at the rate of Group H in Article 30. e. The EDC will familiarize the teaching staff with the new evaluation tool and how it will be used to evaluate them for the upcoming year. Teachers employed after this time will , not later than thirty (30) days after initial employment with the District, be provided with the information concerning the evaluation tool and its use by their immediate supervisor.
