European Clause Samples

The 'European' clause typically refers to a provision that restricts the exercise of certain rights or options to a specific date, most commonly at the end of a defined period. For example, in financial contracts or options agreements, a European-style option can only be exercised on its expiration date, not before. This clause provides certainty and predictability for both parties by clearly defining when rights can be exercised, thereby reducing ambiguity and simplifying contract administration.
