EUBOX Clause Samples

EUBOX. Discussions with user communities reveal that there is a clear need for an easy, ad-hoc, and temporarily sharing of research data among a limited number of known individual scientists. Such a service would complement the Simple Store service that is much more about an easy upload of research data to enable permanent sharing with the whole community. Hence, the current work practice of researchers shows that an alternative for the known ‘dropbox’ is required, while being slightly more optimized for research data (e.g. compared to sharing word documents or connected to other services like Simple Store on the backend). On the other hand, it is clear that researchers will only accept an alternative service for dropbox when it is not on the same level of maturity. This implies a bullet-proven solution ideally being supported by a professional team that can guarantee some degree of negotiated ‘service level agreements’. The ‘dropbox for science’ service was temporarily given the label EUBOX. An overview is given in Figure 10.
