Establishing Seniority & Longevity. Employees who are members of the bargaining unit prior to July 1, 2005, will retain the seniority they have accumulated prior to that date. For employees entering the bargaining unit after the effective date of this Agreement, the seniority date will be the date that the employee commenced regular employment in a BUD position, and the longevity date will be the date that the employee first commenced employment in a Washington state civil service position, adjusted as provided in Section 29.5.
