Equity Incentive Agreement Clause Samples
An Equity Incentive Agreement is a contractual provision that grants employees, consultants, or other stakeholders the right to receive equity in a company, typically in the form of stock options or restricted stock units, as part of their compensation. This agreement outlines the terms under which equity is awarded, such as vesting schedules, eligibility requirements, and the process for exercising options. Its core practical function is to align the interests of recipients with those of the company by providing a financial incentive for long-term commitment and performance, thereby helping to attract, retain, and motivate key contributors.
