Common use of Environmental Management Plan Clause in Contracts

Environmental Management Plan. The environmental management plan prepared by the Subcontractor and approved by the Contractor's Representative which must set out in adequate detail the procedures the Subcontractor will implement to manage the Subcontractor's Activities from an environmental perspective and describe how the Subcontractor proposes to ensure the Subcontractor's Activities will be performed consistently so as to maximise the achievement of: the Environmental Requirements; the Statutory Requirements; without limiting paragraph (b), the Energy Policy for Commonwealth Agencies, Commonwealth Procurement Rules and Defence Green Procurement Policy; the ESD Principles; and the Environmental Objectives, in accordance with the Subcontract and the Contractor's Environmental Management Plan. The Environmental Objectives are to: encourage best practice environmental management through planning, commitment and continuous improvement; prevent and minimise adverse impacts on the Environment; identify the potential for, and respond to, Environmental Incidents, accidents and emergency situations and take corrective action; identify and control possible environmental hazards associated with the Subcontract Works and the Subcontractor's Activities; establish procedures to ensure that no hazardous substance is stored on Commonwealth land without approval; recognise and protect any special environmental characteristics of the Site (including cultural heritage significance); define roles and responsibilities for personnel; ensure environmental training and awareness programmes are provided to employees and subsubcontractors; ensure subsubcontractors implement the Environmental Management Plan; define how the management of the Environment during the Subcontractor's Activities is reported and performance evaluated; describe all monitoring procedures required to identify impacts on the Environment as a result of the Subcontract Works and the Subcontractor's Activities; implement complaint reporting procedures and maintain records of complaints and response to complaints; and establish and maintain programs and procedures for periodic Environmental Management Plan audits to be carried out.
