Employees on Lay-off Clause Samples

The "Employees on Lay-off" clause defines the rights and obligations of both the employer and employees when employees are temporarily laid off from work. Typically, this clause outlines the conditions under which a lay-off may occur, the duration of the lay-off period, and any entitlements such as recall rights or benefits continuation during the lay-off. For example, it may specify how long an employee can remain on lay-off status before further action is required, or what notice must be given for recall. The core function of this clause is to provide clear procedures and protections during periods of temporary work stoppage, thereby reducing uncertainty and potential disputes for both parties.
