Elective Office. A teacher filing for a position in the state or federal legislature shall be granted a leave of absence, without pay, for the time devoted to campaigning, and if elected, for the time that the legislature is in session and for such other times required to fulfill the obligations of her/his office. Upon returning to the district, said teacher shall be placed on the salary schedule as though she/he had been teaching during her/his absence. The district shall continue payment of its share of insurance premiums during the teacher’s absence if she/he elects to continue such coverage.
Elective Office. A. For the purpose of enabling employees to participate in the affairs of government, the Company shall grant, upon written notice from the employee, leaves of absence to employees who are elected or appointed to city, county, state, and national governmental positions for the first term or who are appointed to serve unexpired terms of such elective or appointive positions. Such leaves of absence will be granted by the Company, upon written request, for successive terms within the period of this contract.
B. Upon written request, an employee seeking candidacy or government office, the Company will grant a leave of absence of sixty (60) days prior to an election date for the purpose of campaigning on their own behalf.
Elective Office. G.25.1 When a teacher is nominated as a candidate and wishes to contest a municipal, regional, provincial or federal election, he or she shall be given leave of absence, without pay, during the election campaign. G.25.2 Teachers elected or appointed to municipal or regional district offices or a public board may be granted leave of absence, at the cost of a teacher teaching on call, up to a maximum of six (6) days in any one school year. Further time off must be obtained by application to the Board.
Elective Office. Follow 50 ILCS 135/12 – Employees who are elected to the Illinois General Assembly will be granted a leave of absence without compensation during his or her term of office. Any employees who utilize a leave of absence shall be required to make arrangements with the District to maintain all required certifications, licenses, and qualification for special teams for the duration of the leave for purposes of continued employment.
Elective Office. Each unit member who enjoys permanent status and who is elected to the legislature, shall be granted an unpaid leave of absence.
