Elective Office Clause Samples

The Elective Office clause establishes rules regarding an individual's eligibility or conduct in relation to holding an elected public office while engaged under the agreement. Typically, this clause prohibits employees or contractors from running for or holding elective office during their term of employment or engagement, or it may require disclosure and prior approval if such a situation arises. Its core function is to prevent conflicts of interest and ensure that the individual's duties under the agreement are not compromised by political obligations or activities.
