Common use of Election or Appointment Clause in Contracts

Election or Appointment. At the Annual Meeting in July of each year, presided over by the Superintendent-Director or another person who is not a member of the Committee, the Committee shall organize and elect by ballot a chairperson and vice chairperson from among its membership. The Committee shall also appoint a Secretary and hire a treasurer who need not be members of the Committee. (M.G.L. c.71:16A). In keeping with the Chapter 71, Section 16A, in no case shall the business manager serve as the treasurer or assistant treasurer. All officers shall hold office until the next annual meeting when the next election will be held and appointments made.
