EFFECTIVE DATE AND CONTRACT TERM. The effective date of this Contract is April 1, 2016, with an initial Contract term of three (3) years. DES reserves the option to extend for additional term(s) or portions thereof. Extensions will be exercised at the sole discretion of DES upon written mutual agreement. The total Contract term, including the initial term and all extensions, will not exceed eight years unless circumstances require a special extension.
