Consultant shall quote an all-inclusive Daily Fee for the contract period. Educational Qualifications. The normal requirement is a Secondary School Graduation Diploma (Grade 12). Consideration will be given to Grade 10 and Grade 11 graduates whose performance on jobs they have held elsewhere in the mill for a two-year period has been acceptable, providing they have good mechanical aptitude. Experience Consideration will be given to applicants who have had previous experience in the trade. For example, an applicant may have had a year or two as an apprentice elsewhere, or he may have worked in the trade as a Helper. He may also have had experience in an allied trade. An appropriate Mechanical Aptitude test will be given to qualified applicants. Consideration will be given to those who achieve 70% or more. ***An applicant who has not achieved 70% on his first test will be permitted to be retested one more time only, provided that 12 months have elapsed between tests. The restriction on rewriting the test will be waived for the employees who have satisfactorily completed upgrading courses acceptable to the Apprenticeship Advisory Committee. These employees will be permitted an additional opportunity to take the qualifying aptitude test. Performance The last two years performance of the applicants who have worked elsewhere in the Mill will be considered. Those whose performances are Excellent, Very Good, or Good will receive consideration. Poor performance will eliminate the applicant from being considered. Physical Capabilities Physical capabilities have to be considered among the applicants. For example, if an applicant has a fear of heights he cannot be considered for a position that required him to work at heights. If a person has a back problem, he could not be considered for a position that required heavy lifting.
