EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVES. A. Upon prior written approval of the courses to be taken the Sheriff or designee shall see that the COUNTY reimburses full tuition and required lab fees for courses taken by an employee at an accredited college or university or for correspondence courses completed from an accredited school, college or university, provided such course directly applies to the employee’s employment with the Elko County Sheriff’s Department. The reimbursed cost of the tuition and lab fees will be equal to the cost per credit hour set each semester by Great Basin College for lower division classes and upper division classes. The employee must receive a grade of C or better in order to receive reimbursement. Such courses shall not exceed six (6) credits per semester.
