The Educational Credits clause defines the terms under which credits for educational or training activities are granted or recognized within an agreement. Typically, this clause outlines the types of educational programs or courses that qualify, the process for earning or transferring credits, and any limitations or requirements for their use. Its core function is to ensure that parties understand how educational achievements are formally acknowledged, thereby providing clarity and consistency in the recognition of learning or professional development.
Educational Credits. A. Unit members will receive additional pay for college credit as listed below. The college degree must be earned from an accredited four-year college/university.
B. Unit members, with the exception of those assistants that have passed the paraprofessional assessment will receive additional pay for college credit as listed below: 15 hours $200 30 hours $400 60 hours $600 90 hours $800 College Degree (4 years) $1,000
C. Assistants who have passed the paraprofessional test will receive additional pay for passing the assessment and for college credit as listed below: Passing score on the paraprofessional assessment $600 90 hours $800 College Degree (4 years) $1,000
Educational Credits. Employees shall advance (when educational credits/clock hours earned make them eligible) to the next higher vertical column(s), provided that the credits and/or acceptable clock hour equivalents meet the requirements set in 3b above. Ten (10) clock hours is equal to one (1) credit for salary schedule placement or movement. All acceptable clock hours must be provided by an OSPI approved clock hour provider.
Educational Credits. New teachers shall be placed on a salary schedule lane, allowing full credit for valid educational credits germane to the teaching assignments that are verified by transcript.

Teachers off the salary schedule who are enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning and whose courses have been approved by the Superintendent or designee, shall be compensated according to the following schedule: BA+12 $ 900.00 BA+24 $ 900.00 BA+42/MA $1,300.00 MA+15 $1,400.00 MA+30 $1,400.00 MA+45 $1,500.00 MA+60 $1,600.00 Ph.D. $1,800.00
B. Teachers may move to the BA+42/MA lane without a master’s degree if they have the required number of approved hours and have taken at least one (1) course during the previous five (5) years. Teachers in the BA+42/MA lane without a master’s degree who subsequently receive a master’s degree for credit and remain in the BA+42/MA lane shall receive a one (1) time payment of five hundred dollars ($500.00) from the Board effective beginning with those teachers who first received their master’s degree for credit toward the 2001-02 school year.
C. Notification of earned credits shall be filed with the Superintendent or designee prior to the commencement of the school term. Evidence of such credits shall be filed as soon as transcripts are available, but subject to the following timelines. Teachers who file with the District’s Human Resources Department transcripts for earned educational credits for salary schedule lane change shall receive retroactive pay to the beginning of the respective school year if filed as follows: Pay for lane changes for transcripts filed on or before September 1 of the respective school year will be processed for pay adjustment beginning with the second payroll in September. Pay for lane changes for transcripts filed after September 1 and on or before November 15 of the respective school year will be processed for pay adjustment beginning with the first payroll in December. Pay for lane changes for transcripts filed late (after November 15) will be eligible for pay adjustment once filed in accordance with the filing dates for subsequent school years. Such late filings will be eligible for retroactive pay only dating back to the beginning of the year in which the teacher complied with the filing deadlines. Teachers are requested to provide the Business Services Office in writing before the end of the school term with an estimate of additional credits they expect to have earned before the start of the next school term. Educational Credits. A. An employee holding a degree from an accredited four-year college will receive an additional six hundred seventy-one dollars ($671).
B. An employee completing sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited college will receive an additional three hundred thirty-four dollars ($334).

Educational Credits. The District shall accept educational credits for pay increases if the following criteria are met:
1. A letter is submitted to the Human Services Department by August 15 indicating that a salary change is anticipated.
2. A certification (grade slip, transcript, or a letter from the college) indicating an increase in educational increment is submitted to Human Services on or before October 1. An official transcript must be received by the District Personnel Office by November 1.
3. All educational credits/clock hours must be completed on or before October 1 (the date specified by OSPI).
Educational Credits. In order to encourage the Business Administrator to maintain and/or improve her skills, the District will reimburse the cost of tuition for undergraduate coursework and/or graduate credits germane to her assignment. The District will cover the cost of CPE credit necessary for the Business Administrator to maintain her CPA license. The Business Administrator must successfully complete such coursework. The following conditions apply to this program:
1. Courses must be taken at an accredited college or University recognized by the State of New York. Continuing professional development courses recognized by the State of New York may be taken to retain professional licensing.
2. All courses must be approved in advance.
3. The Business Administrator will be reimbursed up to the rate of the current tuition rate of the State University of New York upon the submission of the proper bills and official transcripts.
4. The District will also reimburse tuition above the SUNY graduate rate for approved programs. If the Business Administrator attends approved graduate programs she will incur a commitment to remain employed by the Newfield District for five years following the completion of the approved graduate courses or modules. If she leaves before five years from the time of the approved course completion, the Business Administrator would repay the District the tuition expense. The expense will be determined by obtaining the difference between the SUNY tuition rate that was charged at the time calculated per credit hour, and the tuition rate charged by the approved program for each gradate hour multiplied by the total number of graduate credit hours. The repayment will be pro-rated as follows:
0- 1 years following completion: 100% of expense 1- 2 years following completion: 90% of expense 2- 3 years following completion: 80% of expense 3- 4 years following completion: 65% of expense
Educational Credits. In addition to the annual salary, each full time officer shall receive by way of educational credit payment: $500 for an Associates Degree or equivalent number of credits (60 hours); $500 additional for a Bachelors Degree for a total of $1,000; and $500 additional for a Masters Degree for a total of $1,500. The educational credit shall be paid in addition to the base salary, shall be paid bi- weekly and shall be reported to the appropriate New Jersey Pension Fund together with the annual salary. Employees hired after March 15, 2004 shall, if qualified, receive the educational credit payment set forth above upon completion of one (1) year's service to the Borough or within thirty (30) days after earning the appropriate degree and submitting proof of degree to the Borough. The educational credit payment shall be a one-time payment for each degree earned and shall not be reflected in base salary. The present practices and coverage benefits as provided under Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield shall be continued in full force and effect for the duration of this Agreement. However, the Borough may provide dental insurance coverage through another carrier or provider as long as benefit levels are equal to or better to what is presently contracted for under Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield. An employee who is a regular full-time employee and all eligible dependents (as defined in the most recent explanation of the Health Benefits Booklet and that provided by the State Health Benefits Commission) of said employee shall be covered under the Dental Insurance Program subject to applicable deductions inherent in the plan. The PBA shall have the right to appoint an Insurance Liaison who along with the PBA President (or his designee) will remain informed by the Borough Administrator during the insurance bidding process and ▇▇▇▇▇▇ communication between the Borough, the potential insurance carrier and the PBA. After an insurance carrier has been retained, the Insurance Liaison will remain informed about coverage options and have access to the insurance carrier in order to handle questions or complaints.
Educational Credits. Credit shall be allowed for upper division and graduate level credits and/or acceptable clock hour equivalents, provided they qualify for certification renewal, evaluation requirements, meet clock hour requirements of the state, or are accepted by the District to meet District initiatives or programs. Ten (10) clock hours is equal to one (1) credit for salary schedule placement or movement. All acceptable clock hours must be provided by an OSPI approved clock hour provider.
