Education Differential. (A) Effective January 1, 2007 the certification differential will be paid on a bi-weekly basis at the rate of one dollar and thirty-five cents ($1.35) per hour. Effective January 1, 2008, the certification differential will be increased to one dollar and seventy-five cents ($1.75) per hour. Documentation of certification must be updated by the end of November of each year. If documentation is not updated, payment of the certification differential will be discontinued in January. Education Differential. (A) The certification differential will be paid to staff nurses at the rate of one dollar and seventy-five cents ($1.75) per hour. Should certification expire, certification differential will be discontinued effective immediately. Certification differential will be reinstated on the date documentation of the certification is presented to Human Resources. In each year paid, staff nurses shall receive, if certified, a payment for only one (1) certification. An employee’s certification must be nationally recognized and related to the employee’s specialty practice.

A Regular Part-Time Employee and an Other Part-Time Employee will be entitled to a pro rata benefit under this Section. The amounts above are not cumulative.

Education Differential a. Effective December 17, 2006, a full-time nurse with a baccalaureate degree in nursing shall receive additional compensation of five dollars ($5.00) per week and one with a master’s degree in nursing ten dollars ($10.00) per week. Regularly scheduled part-time nurses shall receive the B.S. differential at the rate of two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) per week and the M.S. differential at the rate of five dollars ($5.00) per week. This provision shall be applicable to Staff Nurses, Nurses-In-Charge, and Clinical Nurses only.

Education Differential. Employer will pay additional compensation at the rate of $1,300 ($1,400 effective January 1, 2008) per year to a regular full-time Registered Nurse who holds a baccalaureate degree in nursing, $1,600 ($1,700 effective January 1, 2008) to a regular full-time Registered Nurse who holds a master's degree in nursing, and $1,700 ($1,800 effective January 1, 2008) to a regular full-time Registered Nurse who holds a doctorate degree from an accredited educational institution, but such amounts shall not be cumulative. Regular part-time Registered Nurses will be entitled to a proportionate benefit under this Section. Employer will require proof of degree and payment under this Section will be effective upon receipt of proof of degree. Registered Nurses presently receiving an education differential based on a degree other than nursing shall continue to receive such differential.
