Education Credit. Evaluation of graduate credits and degrees earned (verified by official transcripts) for proper placement at the start of the school year on the salary matrix shall be completed by December 1st. Resultant salary adjustments shall be made retroactive to the beginning of the school year.
Education Credit. When a faculty member has earned the right to a higher salary bracket by reason of increased professional training, the transfer shall be made at the beginning of the next contractual year. Certification of earned credits for this purpose shall be by transcript or certificate of completion and filed in the Superintendent’s office sixty (60) days after completion of such credit.

Movement horizontally along the salary schedule shall be determined by accumulated semester course credit beyond the Bachelor’s degree, beyond the Master’s degree, etc. as indicated by the column headings on the salary schedule (Appendix A). The teacher will provide transcripts or supporting information to the superintendent as proof of said course credit. Movement as a result of earned course credit shall occur two (2) times yearly. The first time shall be on or before September 20 and the second time on or before January 20.

Employees hired prior to 2007/2008 school year with non-graduate hours will retain these hours to receive credit for a lane change. Employees hired before the 2007-2008 school year will be able to move to Lane 3/MA upon completing 30 credit hours of post-Bachelor Degree classes which may be either non-graduate or graduate level courses. However, any courses taken during or after the 2007-2008 school year in order to obtain the 30 additional credit hours, must be graduate level courses. Also, employees hired before the 2007-2008 school year, with graduate hours that are not related to their Masters Degree, will retain these hours to receive additional credit for a lane change above Lane 3/MA upon completing a Masters Degree. Employees hired during or after the 2007-2008 school year, and upon completing a Masters Degree, will be moved to Lane 3/MA. Any course work completed prior to the completion of the Masters Degree, will not be applied for any additional lane changes at that time. Employees hired during or after the 2007- 2008 school year wishing to move to any lane above Lane 3/MA may only apply graduate hours earned after the completion of a Masters Degree. Any additional hours will be graduate level coursework unless pre-approved by the Superintendent.
Education Credit. R.N. plus B.N. or B.Sc.N.: allow one (1) additional increment, plus one (1) increment step: Only one (1) additional increment will be paid regardless of how many of the above qualifications apply. LOCAL 3728 Re: Phlebotomists in New Brunswick Centre Canadian Blood Services agrees that no employee as described in Article 2.01 shall be laid off or suffer a reduction in pay or have her hours of work reduced as a result of the Employer utilizing Phlebotomists. The Employer shall continue the current practice of scheduling a Nurse before scheduling a Phlebotomist. For salary schedule advancement on the MA salary schedules, the only credits that may be used are those earned after the receipt of the Master's Degree for graduate level courses and courses leading to a college degree that are subject-connected or approved by the Superintendent or his/her designee, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. However, teachers who, as of September 1976, have received a Master's Degree and have credits earned prior to the Master's Degree but not yet credited toward salary advancement on the Master's schedules, shall be allowed to use such credits for salary advancements. Nothing contained in this provision shall result in a withdrawal of salary schedule advancement already effected, or shall require the District to grant salary credit where such credit was precluded under the previous contract.

In order to qualify for district reimbursement and to meet the highly qualified teacher plan through NCLB, additional course work will be required in the field where the person is lacking qualification. Certification of earned credits for this purpose shall be by transcript or certificate of completion filed in the Superintendent’s office. All hours beyond the B.A. or B.S. which are approved by the superintendent shall count for advancement on the salary schedule.
