Education and/or Experience. The DDA Coordinator must be an energetic, assertive and creative professional with two or more years’ experience in organizing promotional events, working with business and volunteer boards, and developing marketing and advertising strategies. An undergraduate degree in marketing or communications (or equivalent experience) is preferred. Knowledge of budgeting, computers, copywriting, grant writing, public relations, and business recruitment and retention efforts, as well as a positive team builder who can multi-task is required. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality when appropriate and conduct activities with the highest levels of professional and personal integrity. The individual must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, writing and graphic design skills and be familiar with downtown revitalization programs, commercial districts, and commercial business attraction.
