Early Admission. Early Admission is a form of Dual Enrollment through which eligible students may enroll on a full-time basis in courses that are creditable toward the high school diploma and the associate or baccalaureate degree. Students who wish to participate in Early Admission must submit a completed undergraduate admissions application, including any supporting documentation or test scores required by the University. Applications for Early Admission are considered in the same manner as other “First Time in College” student admissions decisions.

Early Admission. Early Admission is a form of dual enrollment through which first-time, first semester seniors may enroll at the College instead of their high school of attendance in courses that are creditable toward the high school diploma and the associate or baccalaureate degree, a college credit certificate or a career and technical certificate. It is an option for students in the final year of high school. Early admission students are no longer eligible for dual enrollment upon completion of the spring term regardless of their high school graduation status. Early admission students must enro ll in a least four courses totaling twelve credit hours or more per term and earn a s uffic ient number of credit hours in appropriate courses each term to meet high school graduation requirements by the end of their senior year. One credit laboratory courses do not count towards the twelve credit hours or four course requirement. The Board and College recommend students enroll in five courses. Early admission students remain eligible to participate in all extracurricular and graduation activities at their high school of attendance in accordance with School Board rules.

Students must maintain full-time enrollment (12 credit hours) to continue their Early Admission status. Students seeking enrollment under Early Admission status must meet all eligibility requirements for dual enrollment listed within this document and meet PBSC or FAU Early Admission requirements. Unlike dual enrolled students, early admission students may enroll in one or two credit hour courses if required by the post-secondary institution. If accepted for early admission at FAU, the student enters FAU instead of attending high school for the senior year and will spend the fall and spring semesters full time at FAU. Students are not permitted to begin early admission at FAU in the spring semester.

This type of dual enrollment allows eligible high school ascending Seniors to enroll at FIU on a full-time basis in courses that are creditable toward high school diplomas and college coursework. The two (2) semesters of college coursework are substituted for the Senior year of high school. A student must enroll in a minimum of 12 college credit hours per semester to participate in the early admission program; however, a student may not be required to enroll in more than 15 college credit hours per semester. Students enrolled pursuant to this subsection are exempt from the payment of registration, tuition, and laboratory fees. Eligibility criteria will be communicated by SBBC to prospective full-time dual enrollment students, including unweighted high school GPA of 3.5 and college readiness test score requirements; school principals, counselors, parent/guardians will need to authorize enrollment in FIU’s full-time, early admission dual enrollment program.

For PBSC, Early Admission eligibility requires that students achieve a 3.2 unweighted cumulative high school grade point average and achieve the minimum required scores for college readiness on the ACT, SAT, ACCUPLACER, PERT, or PSAT. For FAU, Early Admission eligibility requires that students achieve a 3.8 weighted cumulative high school grade point average and an SAT of 1290 or an ACT of 27. Early Admission. Early Admission, a form of dual enrollment, allows eligible senior students to enroll full-time at BC (at least 12 credit hours in both fall and spring terms) as a dual enrollment student instead of attending high school for the senior year. After Early Admission students complete the fall and spring terms at BC, they will no longer be able to enroll at BC as an Early Admission student. Early Admission students wishing to matriculate to BC will need to submit their final high school transcript showing the graduation date.
