Duty Time. Duty time will be granted to take authorized directed training. Additionally, duty time may be granted to take authorized non-directed training provided that the employee’s absence would not create a workload or staffing problem, the course offering is unavailable during non-duty hours/the employee is unable to attend during non-duty hours, and it is impracticable for the employee to use annual leave, leave without pay, credit hours, compensatory time or to change the regularly scheduled hours of work.
