Duties of Stewards. A xxxxxxx'x function shall be to assist an employee in the preparation and presentation of grievances to the Supervisor.
Duties of Stewards. 6.01 The Union acknowledges that stewards, members of committees, and Union officers have regular duties on behalf of the Company and that such persons will not leave their regular duties without the permission of their xxxxxxx or immediate supervisor, which permission will not be unreasonably withheld. When resuming their regular duties after being engaged in duties on behalf of the Union, they will report to their xxxxxxx, informing him that they are ready to resume their regular duties.
Duties of Stewards. When requested by an employee, a xxxxxxx may investigate any alleged grievance and appeals set forth above in their assigned area. The xxxxxxx shall encourage the employee to discuss a problem informally with their supervisor prior to filing a formal grievance or appeal. Xxxxxxx Representation in Appeals: Stewards shall be allowed reasonable time off during working hours, without loss of time or pay, to investigate, prepare and present appeals as set forth above. Upon request of an employee who desires to file a formal written grievance pursuant to the grievance procedure, a xxxxxxx may assist the employee in preparing the formal written grievance and may meet with the employee and the employee's immediate supervisor to attempt to resolve the grievance. In the event that the grievance is not resolved by the immediate supervisor, the xxxxxxx shall have the right to represent, assist and be present with the grievant at all subsequent steps of the grievance procedure.
Duties of Stewards. It is recognized that Stewards have full-time work to perform and, therefore, working time spent in the investigation and processing of a grievance shall be held to a minimum. In such cases the Xxxxxxx or Chief Xxxxxxx will obtain the permission of his xxxxxxx to leave his work, which permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. Upon completion of the Union business he shall report back to his xxxxxxx and such time shall be noted on his card as Union time.
Duties of Stewards. The Union acknowledges that the stewards, members of the Grievance and Negotiating Committees have regular duties to perform on behalf of the Board and such persons shall not absent themselves from their regular duties without obtaining prior approval from their department head. The Board agrees to maintain the pay of such persons on approved absence for all reasonable time so spent in meetings with the Employer but only for such hours that are straight time regularly scheduled working hours.
Duties of Stewards. Xxxxxxx duties involve gathering information on alleged violations of the Agreement and processing grievances. Each Xxxxxxx, upon approval of the Company Manager, shall be authorized to devote up to four (4) hours per workweek to perform xxxxxxx duties without loss of pay. Such permission shall be granted except where there is a substantial reason for delaying the contact or the investigation due to safety conditions or conflicts with critical site operations. The Union agrees that the “time off without loss of pay” privilege provided pursuant to Xxxxxxx Duties shall not be abused. It is also agreed that, to the maximum extent possible, such xxxxxxx duties shall be conducted in such a manner so as to not interfere with operating requirements. The amount of time to perform Xxxxxxx duties without loss of pay may be extended by management at the request of the Xxxxxxx if special circumstances arise.
Duties of Stewards. It shall be the responsibility of the stewards to investigate complaints and to deal with grievances.
Duties of Stewards. All stewards must be members of the Union in good standing. In addition to his work as an employee under the terms of this Agreement, the xxxxxxx shall be permitted to perform during working hours such of his normal Union duties as cannot be performed at other times. The Union agrees that such duties shall be performed as expeditiously as possible and the Employer agrees to allow the xxxxxxx a reasonable amount of time for performance of such duties. The xxxxxxx shall receive the regular rate of pay for a bricklayer or stone mason. The xxxxxxx shall be subject to the rules and decisions of the Joint Arbitration Board. The xxxxxxx shall always, while at work, carry a copy of this Agreement and these Working Rules. The xxxxxxx’x duties shall consist of examining all working dues books and cards issued to bricklayers, stone masons, and apprentices at any time, in his judgment, it is necessary but as far as possible, without inconveniencing the Employer. The duties of the xxxxxxx shall also be to check terms and conditions of work and starting dates of employment for new employees, and all workers employed on a job shall report to the xxxxxxx any differences or disputes that may arise in connection with the work or any part of it, and the xxxxxxx shall report such differences or disputes to the Union. Stewards shall call time for starting and quitting work, and shall be furnished with a key to the shed. The xxxxxxx shall be present whenever the Employer pays employees covered by this Agreement and shall have the right to examine each paycheck given to each such employee. The xxxxxxx’x duties shall not include any matters relating to hiring, termination, or discipline of employees.

A xxxxxxx shall be a working journey- man appointed by the Business Manager of the Local Union who shall, in addition to his work as a journeyman, be permitted to perform during working hours such of his Union duties as cannot be performed at other times. The Union agrees that such duties shall be performed as expe- ditiously as possible and the employer agrees to allow the xxxxxxx reasonable amount of time for the performance of such duties. Stewards shall receive the regular jour- xxxxxx’x rate of pay. The xxxxxxx shall be one of the first employees on the project and on the completion of the pro- ject, he shall be one of the last employees laid off, provided the xxxxxxx is capable of doing the work assigned to him.
