DUTIES OF SPECIAL SERVICER. (a) Subject to the express provisions of this Agreement, for and on behalf of the Trust and for the benefit of the Certificateholders as a whole, and, solely as it relates to any A/B Whole Loan, for the benefit of the holder of the related B Note and, solely as it relates to any Loan Pair, for the benefit of the holder of the related Serviced Companion Loan, the Special Servicer shall service the Specially Serviced Mortgage Loans and manage the related REO Properties in accordance with the Servicing Standard and the terms of this Agreement. Certain of the provisions of this Article IX make explicit reference to their applicability to Mortgage Loans, any Serviced Companion Loan and any B Note; notwithstanding such explicit references, references in this Article IX to “Mortgage Loans” shall be construed, unless otherwise specified, to refer also to such B Note and such Serviced Companion Loan (but any other terms that are defined in Article I and used in this Article IX shall be construed according to such definitions without regard to this sentence).

DUTIES OF SPECIAL SERVICER.
