Common use of Disaster Leave Clause in Contracts

Disaster Leave. Additional sick leave benefits shall be granted to any employee who has exhausted accumulated sick leave benefits if such employee has been continuously disabled and unable to perform services for a period of thirty (30) or more consecutive duty days, as certified by a physician. Additional sick leave benefits shall also be granted for a subsequent absence during the same duty year if such absence is due to the same medical condition. Such additional sick leave benefits shall commence upon completion of the thirty (30) duty day waiting period. Additional sick leave benefits shall continue only for the period during which the employee remains continuously disabled and unable to perform services, and shall cease on the sixty-first (61st) duty day of disability.
