Disability Leave Reserve. A voluntary disability leave reserve shall be established and is expressly intended to be used by any teacher who has elected to participate in the reserve and who has a written opinion from an M.D. or a D.O. indicating that the teacher is physically/mentally incapable of performing her/his duties due to disability after she/he has used her/his medical leave, any other paid leave, including personal leave, available to her/him prior to drawing from the disability leave reserve. Beginning with the 2018-19 School Year, teachers must have used any paid leave, including personal leave, with the exception of two (2) days of their medical leave prior to drawing from the disability leave reserve.
