Dental Plans. The District will also make available choices of dental plans, including a Managed Dental Plan and a Preferred Provider (PPO) Plan to be paid by the employee with pre-tax dollars through payroll deduction.
Dental Plans. MCPS will contract with both a Dental Preferred Provider Organization (DPPO) and a Dental Maintenance Organization Provider (DMO) to provide dental benefits to MCPS employees. Unit members may elect annually to participate in either the DPPO or the DMO Plan. The DPPO will provide both in-network and out-of-network dental benefits.

For each half-time employee, as defined by Section 4.110 of the LAAC, who becomes a member of LACERS and for each employee who transfers from full-time to half-time status following July 24, 1989, Management will expend an amount equivalent to one- half of the cost of the employee-only coverage of the most expensive plan under the City-sponsored Dental Program. Half-time employees who, prior to July 24, 1989, were receiving the full employee-only subsidy shall continue to receive the full employee-only subsidy. Any employee who was receiving a full employee-only dental subsidy as of July 24, 1989, in accordance with this Article, who transfers to half-time status following that date shall continue to be eligible for the full subsidy. This provision shall apply providing that such employee does not have a break in service subsequent to July 24, 1989. Any half-time employee with a break in service after July 24, 1989 shall be subject to the partial subsidy provisions in this Article. Further, any half-time employee receiving either a full or partial subsidy in accordance with this Article who, subsequent to July 24, 1989, becomes an intermittent employee shall not be eligible for such subsidy, notwithstanding his/her status as a member of LACERS. During the term of this MOU, the Joint Labor-Management Benefits Committee will review all rate changes and their impact on the Dental Plans. Union-Sponsored Dental Insurance Employees may elect to be covered by one of the Union-sponsored dental insurance programs instead of by the City-sponsored dental insurance plan. The amount to be remitted for each employee covered by a Union-sponsored plan shall not be in excess of the employee only premium for coverage. Dental Plans. The ACFD offers a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) dental plan option. Alternative plan options listed in subsection 11.C.2. (Duplicate Coverage) applies to employees who receive alternate coverage through the ACFD. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work at least fifty percent (50%) of the normal full-time pay period for their classification, shall be eligible to elect coverage from the available options.

Enrollment in the Association plans shall be available to all employees regardless of Association membership or affiliation. Employees may not receive a subsidy for more than one of the City-sponsored or Union-sponsored dental plans. The parties mutually understand that the City will expend the above noted funds only for those employees who enroll in these plans and remain on active payroll status with the City, and that the City retains all rights to any unused funds which may be allocated for the purpose of implementing this Article.
