Common use of Definition of Regular Straight Time Rate of Pay Clause in Contracts

Definition of Regular Straight Time Rate of Pay. For the purposes of calculating any benefit or money payment under this Agreement to which an employee is entitled, the regular straight time rate of pay is that prescribed in the Wage Schedules of this Agreement. Overtime Premium Employees shall be entitled to payment of time and one-half the employee's basic straight time hourly rate for all overtime work in excess of seven and one-half hours in a tour of duty or in excess of the average full-time hours of work over the period scheduled by the Hospital. Such period for this purpose shall not exceed two weeks. It is understood and acknowledged that the Hospital has the right to require employees to perform reasonable overtime work. Call back shall not be considered as hours worked for purposes of this Article. Overtime premium will not be duplicated nor pyramided nor shall other premiums be duplicated nor pyramided nor shall the same hours worked be counted as part of the normal work week and also as hours for which the overtime premium is paid.

Definition of Overtime Premium Employees (Overtime Premium) time worked in excess of the normal daily hours or normal hours of the Hospital shall be entitled to payment paid at the rate of time one and one-half times the employee's basic hourly straight time hourly rate of pay provided no overtime premium will be paid for all overtime work in excess on an exchange of seven and one-half hours in a tour of duty or in excess of the average full-time hours of work over the period scheduled shifts mutually agreed to between two employees where approved by the Hospital. Such period for this purpose shall not exceed two weeks. It is understood and acknowledged that the Hospital has the right to require employees to perform reasonable overtime work. Call back shall not be considered as hours worked for purposes the purpose of this Article.
