Section Pay For Change in Classification When an employee from a higher rated classification is requested to work temporarily or until permanently re-classified at a classification, he shall continue to be paid at the rate paid for the classification, Where an employee from a lower-rated classification is requested to work in classification for (a) one hour and up to two hours, he shall be paid for the period worked at the higher rate, and for two or more hours, he shall be paid for the entire day at the rate paid for the classification, An employee who is as a condition of employment to be the holder of a valid and subsisting license shall receive the appropriate rate of pay for whichever license he is required to hold. This clause shall not apply if an employee exercises his seniority into different classification. Section Pay For Change in Jurisdiction In the event that the Company require any employee covered by this Agreement to engage in work on construction or demolition or in the confines of a construction or demolition site coming the jurisdiction of an agreement which has established more favourable wage rates than those herein contained, such employee shall be entitled to be paid at the more favourable wage rate while he is so engaged. Section Chargehand Defined A chargehand, when so designated and classified by the Company, shall be defined as an employee who shall direct the work of other employees performing similar work He shall not have the authority to directly hire, fire, suspend or discipline employees. He shall be a member of the Union and shall have seniority in accordance with Article herein.

  • REPORTING OF ACCIDENTS The Contractor shall report to the Engineer details of any accident as soon as possible after its occurrence. In the case of any fatality or serious accident, the Contractor shall, in addition, notify the Engineer immediately by the quickest available means.   • Accident INVESTIGATIONS Whenever an accident occurs involving the equipment or personnel of a Supporting Party, the Protecting Party shall take immediate steps to notify the Supporting Party that an accident has occurred. As soon as practical, the Protecting Party shall initiate an investigation of the accident. A team made up of appropriate representatives from all affected agencies shall conduct the investigation. Costs for investigation personnel are Party-specific and will be borne by the sending Party. Other accident or incident investigation costs are the fiscal responsibility of the Party (ies) that has jurisdiction and/or investigative responsibility. The sharing of information between Parties on accident investigations and their findings and probable causes is a valuable tool for safety and must be encouraged.

  • Saturday Work A day worker required to work overtime on a Saturday shall be afforded at least four hours work or paid for four hours at the rate of time and one half for the first three hours and double time thereafter, except where the overtime is continuous with overtime commenced on the previous day.

  • Day of Mourning Each year on April 28 at 11:00 am, one minute of silence shall be observed in memory of workers killed or injured on the job.

  • Holiday Work If an employee works on a holiday or designated holiday, the employee will be paid at the rate of time and one-half the regular salary rate for all hours worked, in addition to his/her holiday pay. For the purpose of computing additional overtime, only hours actually worked shall be counted.
