Data Retention and Archiving Sample Clauses
The Data Retention and Archiving clause sets out the requirements and procedures for how data must be stored, maintained, and preserved over time. It typically specifies the duration for which different types of data must be retained, the formats in which data should be archived, and the security measures to be applied during storage. For example, it may require that customer records be kept for seven years and that backups are encrypted and stored offsite. The core function of this clause is to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, or business requirements regarding data preservation, while also providing clear guidelines to prevent accidental loss or unauthorized deletion of important information.
