Damaged Personal Property. ‌ Any items of personal property, including but not limited to shoes, watches, eyeglasses, contact lenses, dentures or clothing, which are lost in the fresh pursuit or apprehension of a suspect, stolen or damaged in the performance of official duties, shall be reimbursed to the affected sworn member of the Cincinnati Police Department at their current replacement cost, not to exceed $300.00. There shall be no requirement that an employee received an injury to his or her person in order to qualify under this section. In the event that more than one item of personal property is lost, stolen or damaged in any one incident, then the $300.00 limit shall apply to each individual item and not be considered as the total amount recoverable for all lost, stolen or damaged items. Exceptions: Personal pagers, cellular telephones, and personal computers shall not be subject to reimbursement under this section unless such items have been specifically authorized in advance and in writing for use and reimbursement by the Chief of Police. If reimbursement is to be denied, that fact must be communicated to the member, in writing, at the time the Chief responds. Reimbursement under this provision shall be available for personal property lost, damaged, or stolen during off duty employment provided the member is engaged in an official police function.

Damaged Personal Property. 10/6/1 The Employer agrees to pay the cost of repairing eye glasses, watches, medically prescribed prosthetic devices (such as artificial limbs, dentures and hearing aids) or articles of clothing damaged in the line of duty. Such reimbursement provision shall not apply to items where the replacement value or repair cost is ten dollars ($10.00) or less.
Damaged Personal Property. Personal property, which is damaged in the line of duty, will be repaired or replaced by the College at no cost to the employee, except where such damage or loss was caused by the officer’s negligence. Such personal property shall be limited to, prescription glasses, contact lenses, dentures, and wristwatches. Damaged items shall be turned in to the College. The following rules will apply: $325 maximum per personal item damaged and a $650 maximum per incident. A report will accompany all requests for reimbursement under this Section.
Damaged Personal Property. Except to the extent caused by the member’s negligence and except to the extent covered by insurance, a member, after obtaining the prior approval of the Police Chief, shall be allowed to turn in glasses, contacts, sunglasses, watches, wedding bands and other jewelry or personal property, which are damaged in the line of duty and these items will be repaired or replaced by the Township; provided, however, that the cost of any repair or replacement shall not exceed $500.00 per occurrence. Members shall submit an inventory of such items including the value of such item and keep such inventory updated. Only those items listed on the inventory shall be eligible for repair or replacement. A report will accompany all requests for repair or replacement under this Section, as well as photographs of damaged items to be repaired or replaced.

Damaged Personal Property. The City agrees to repair or replace with an item of equal value, as necessary, any personal property that is necessary and/or required for the employee’s assigned duty if such is damaged or broken as a result of the employee being required to subdue another person, or is being attacked by another person, during the course of the employee’s duties. The employee will be required to document such an incident and turn in the damaged or broken item to his/her immediate supervisor in a timely manner. The City agrees to repair or replace a pair of prescription eyeglasses with a pair of equal value. The maximum amount payable under this Section is two hundred dollars ($200.00) per incident except where the employee can establish that the damaged property is not functionally replaceable by items that cost two hundred dollars ($200.00) or less.

Such personal property shall include, but not be limited to, prescription eye glasses (including frames), contact lenses, dentures, and wristwatches. Damaged items shall be turned in to the City. The following allowances and limitations will apply: $500.00 maximum per personal item damaged to a $500.00 maximum per incident. A report will accompany all requests for reimbursements under this Section.
Damaged Personal Property. In accordance with the provisions of Government Code Section 19849.8, a department may pay the cost of replacing or repairing specified personal property necessarily worn or carried when damaged in the line of duty without fault of the employee. The value of such personal property shall be determined as of the time of the damage thereto.
