Damage, Loss, or Theft. You are solely responsible for the safe keeping of all equipment installed in or located on your premises or otherwise provided to you by the Company. In the event that any equipment is damaged, destroyed, lost or stolen while in your possession, you shall be liable to the Company for the full cost of repair or replacement for such equipment. Any warranties for defective equipment shall be as specified in your written Service Contract.
Damage, Loss, or Theft. Responsibility for Damage: The student is responsible for maintaining a working Chromebook at all times. The student shall use reasonable care to ensure that the Chromebook is not damaged, stolen, or lost. In the event of damage the student/parent will be billed for the cost of the damage or the replacement cost of the Chromebook. If the damage is deemed accidental, there will be a $25 charge for the cost of the first repair each school year. This does not apply to warranty repairs. If subsequent repairs are required during the school year, or if the damage is deemed intentional due to neglect, the student/parent will be charged the fees determined by the cost of the replacement parts and labor, not to exceed $250 per repair. If the Chromebook is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair, the student will be responsible for a replacement cost of $250.00.
Damage, Loss, or Theft. In the event of accidental damage, each student will have 1 instance where they can have their device repaired or replaced for a maximum fee of $100.00. Students are only allowed 1 instance throughout their entire school career. After the 1st instance, students and their guardian will be responsible for the full repair or replacement cost of the device. Note: Special consideration will be given to those individuals that request a payment plan when having a device repaired or replaced. Request shall be made to the Superintendent of Schools in writing. If the device is damaged, lost, or stolen, a report must be filed with the school administration within one school day. If the device has been stolen, a police report must be filed within 24 hours of the incident. Documentation of the police report must be submitted to the school office the next school day. If a stolen device is not reported in the aforementioned fashion, it will be considered lost. Student is financially responsible for the total cost of a lost or carelessly-handled device. Student is responsible for safely transporting, storing, and care of the device. ● Transport device in school-issued bag at all times with lids down. ● Use stable platform when working on the device ● Avoid extreme temperatures, especially in automobiles ● Do not eat or drink near device ● Use clean hands ● Insert/disconnect accessory devices and power cords carefully, and use the correct angle ● Store device in a secured area, as much out of sight as possible, to avoid theft
Damage, Loss, or Theft. Del Norte School District’s iPads require a $45.00 non-refundable insurance fee for each iPad issued to students.
1. The $45 insurance fee is the financial responsibility of the student’s family. The insurance fee covers accidental damage, including but not limited to liquid spills, power surges, drops, falls, collisions, vandalism, flood, fire, and smoke, as well as damage to batteries and ac adapters. If an iPad is damaged, our library technology support team will work with the student and Apple to determine if it is a warranty or insurance claim incident. We are providing a galvanized glass cover and a rigid STM DUX case on all iPad’s to minimize damage to the iPad fragile glass digitizer.
2. The user agrees to the following fee schedule in the case of a damaged iPad: • 1st Incident: No Charge • 2nd Incident: $20.00 for broken glass cover/$50.00 for broken digitizer • Additional Incidents: $25.00 for broken glass cover/$120.00 for broken digitizer
3. The Del Norte School District iPad warranty covers manufacturer defects.
4. Insurance does not cover loss, theft, negligence, and abuse of iPad and accessories. For example, throwing the iPad or using the iPad as an umbrella would be considered examples of neglect and abuse. If an iPad needs to be replaced due to loss, theft, neglect, or abuse, it is the family’s financial responsibility to replace the iPad at the district’s current replacement cost.
5. The student or parent/guardian is required to immediately notify a school administrator in all cases of stolen or lost iPads. School administration may be able to assist in relocating the iPad if notified immediately.
Damage, Loss, or Theft. 2.1 The student or parent/carer is required to immediately notify the school office and file a police report in all cases of stolen or lost iPads. After filing the police report, the student or parent/carer shall notify the school and submit a copy of the police report. Failure to report stolen or lost property within 28 days of loss will result in a charge for the cost of the replacement device to the school. The school will only replace the stolen or lost iPad once for the student assuming they have completed the appropriate paperwork. If the replaced iPad is lost or stolen, the school reserves the right not to issue another iPad to the student. Or if a new iPad is issued, the school reserves the right to keep the iPad in school.
2.2 Pleckgate High School iPads contain Selecta DNA software that will be activated to track down the iPad in case of loss or theft.
2.3 Parents/carers are requested to make a contribution of £30 as a one off payment to cover accidental damage to the iPad, cost of cases and chargers. The IT Technicians in school will repair damage to the iPads such as cracked screens. The insurance payment is non-refundable and must be paid before the iPad is issued to the student.
2.4 If it is deemed that the damage has been sustained through accident or negligence then the child will be asked to fill out a damage form. For all accidental or negligent damages the parent/carer will be invoiced for the full cost of repair. This repair will only take place if the iPad is in a state where it is economically viable to do so. If the iPad is unable to be repaired or it is not economically viable to make the repair then the parent/carer will be charged for the cost of a replacement device.
2.5 If the IT Technicians deem the iPad to be damaged through natural wear and tear or through failure not due to accident or negligence, then it will be repaired by the school without charge to the parent/carer. Cosmetic wear and tear such as scratches and minor damage to the iPad will not normally be repaired providing that the function of the iPad is not significantly affected.

▇. ▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇ School District will maintain and service normal issues. Students and parents are responsible for repair and/or replacement costs, based on fair market value, for damage caused to devices by neglect, abuse, or misuse. If you drop it, you pay to fix it. The administration will determine this. Replacement of Chromebooks will cost $100. Replacement of chargers will cost $20.
Damage, Loss, or Theft. Handsets or other equipment that is damaged in the course of business should be brought to NTS, who will contact the vendor for replacement or repair. Lost or stolen cellular equipment should be immediately reported to the employee’s supervisor, to Campus Safety and to NTS so that the service can be cancelled. All costs incurred for replacement or repair will be the responsibility of the employee’s Vice-Chancellor.

All prices are based on the current cost the District must pay to replace damaged parts and are subject to change. The costs of any other parts needed for repairs will be based on manufacturer’s current price list. The use of stickers, altering, or writing on carrying cases or computers is not allowed and will be charged for removal. Jefferson Co. R-VII School District is committed to the importance of a student being able to continue with his work when their Chromebook is experiencing problems. To assist with this problem the District is providing the following: ● Do NOT loan computers or other equipment to other students. ● Do NOT borrow a computer from another student. ● Do NOT share passwords or usernames with others.
