Curfews. DPAC has a strict curfew which requires all events in the theater, on the main stage or the lobby areas to end by 12 midnight and for the attendees to begin exiting the building at that time. In addition, any backstage meet & greets or other promotional activity associated with an event, must end 60 minutes after the conclusion of the performance onstage.

Curfews. The New Zealand law states that young students are to be under supervision at all times. Any change to the curfew rules below must be negotiated beforehand with homestay parents. The students must tell the homestay parents where they are at all times and must contact them if they are going to be later than expected. The students must give their host parents the telephone number where they can be contacted anytime they are away from their homestays. Leave and Holidays Students are expected to attend school during term time. There are 12 weeks holiday in the school year. If a student wishes to travel in NZ or overseas during the holidays - permission will be granted at the discretion of the school. If permission is granted it is on the understanding that the school will not have responsibility for the student while they are outside of our school/homestay environs. If the student is returning to their home country they are expected to do so within the sanctioned holiday time.

Announcements: DPAC reserves the right to request announcements prior to event or during intermission which would relate briefly to future attractions. DPAC is also entitled to make such announcements, as DPAC may deem necessary at any time in the interest of public safety. Lessee agrees that it will cooperate and will cause its agents and performers to cooperate with the delivery of such announcements for public safety, including but not limited to announcements to require patrons to return to their seats.

Curfews. The Student is required to be home by 6:00 pm Sunday to Thursday, unless they are participating in recognised activities such as sports clubs, music groups. Friday and Saturday nights, if they wish to participate in social activities, the Student is expected to be home by 10:00 pm, The Student must have permission from their host family to go out and must carry a charged cell phone with credit on it at all times. Driving / Motor Vehicle Ownership / Riding Bicycles and Electric Scooters The Student is not permitted to obtain their New Zealand driver’s license, or to drive or own a motor vehicle (such as a car, motor bike scooter) while they are enrolled at Rangiora High School. If, in exceptional circumstances, a Student 18 years of age or older wishes to drive, or learn to drive, and / or to own a motor vehicle, they must apply in writing to the International Director and the Principal stating their case. The school’s decision will be final. The Student is expected to obey all New Zealand laws with regards to riding bicycles and electric scooters such as Lime Scooters. Drugs and Illegal Substances, Smoking, Vaping and Alcohol The Student is not permitted to smoke, vape or drink alcohol while enrolled at Rangiora High School. The Student is not permitted to use or possess drugs or illegal substances. Students found to be in breach of this will be subject to the Disciplinary Policy (see Schedule Two). Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) Education outside the classroom (EOTC) is the name given to all events and activities that occur outside the classroom, both on the School grounds and off-site. Rangiora High School rules apply on all EOTC events and activities. Rangiora High School uses a process, which is monitored by the Principal and Board of Trustees, to identify and manage risk for all activity types. The Ministry of Education EOTC Guidelines identify four activity types, each with recommended parent/caregiver consent.
Curfews. Your expectations of what is an acceptable time for the student to come home at night should be informed to the Student Services Officer at Malvern House Brighton and to the student. If you are hosting a student under the age of 18, the curfew is 10 pm. As mentioned above, please be aware that some classes finish at 5.30 pm and some classes at 8.30 pm so this may also affect the time the student comes home.
